B.G. Leaves Grand Hustle

B.G. announced last week that he will be leaving Grand Hustle, due to disagreements with the label about the push behind his career.

"I'm gonna be a free agent," explained the rapper in an interview. "I'm gonna sit down with the people that closest to me like my manager and lawyers and see what's the best route to do. [Grand Hustle,] no, all that's over with. [T.I.] was the executive producer of the project with me when it was on Atlantic. After the situation with him and the Hip Hop Awards, they kind of froze up on me, kept pushing the album back. This was pre-recession. What an absolute blessing, not only to be released early, but released right in time for Christmas. After the King spent 7 months in Forrest City Prison in Arkansas, T.I. was released early and sent to a halfway house in Atlanta.

Although the halfway house isn't total freedom, T.I. will be allowed to leave during the day for work, but must return in the evenings. WELCOME HOME T.I.P.!! Now its time to correct some of buffoonery that's been going on at Grand Hustle during your absence.

Jennifer Hudson is Expecting Baby #2!

Star magazine is reporting that Jennifer Hudson learned she was pregnant with baby number two back on December 10. One of J Hud's close friends said:

“Jennifer was in total shock when she found out she was having another baby. She and David love kids. It’s another thing for them to celebrate during the holidays.”

Congrats to Jennifer and David! This will be baby #2 for the both of them.

Asher Roth Addresses Gay Rumors

I'm glad I didn't post the gay story yesterday when everybody was on Twitter going crazy about it. Something told me it wasn't true, he never struck me as the "closet" type. Asher Roth released this statement today addressing the rumors:

I hate to disappoint and take away the entertainment of it all but I am straight, not gay. It’s disheartening to know such “news” on someone’s personal life can be portrayed as fact with no viable source. This, to me, is an opportunity to expose our vulnerability to lies and manipulation through unprofessional and irresponsible news outlets, in which people consider TRUTH. Further, someone’s sexual orientation should NEVER be big news, as it delivers a troubling message to children that they can’t be themselves without fear of judgment. Race, creed, and sexual persuasion should not just be tolerated but understood and accepted. It’s extremely disappointing that this topic would be used with the intention of being hurtful. We are near 2010….2010!! Yet race, sex and religion still play a major role in a hate driven society. For the love of the future and humanity….let’s wake up.

Actress Brittany Murphy Dead

Brittany Murphy died early Sunday morning (Dec. 20) after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived. Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless", "8 Mile" and "Don't Say a Word". She was 32.

Police are currently investigating the reason why she went into cardiac arrest. The young actress was a known drug abuser for many years, so some are assuming that this had something to do with her death. Only time will tell, but this yet another young loss to Hollywood that is unfortunate and saddening.

Tina Knowles Files For Divorce

Beyonce and Solange Knowles' mom has filed for divorce from her husband Mathew Knowles.Tina Knowles filed divorce papers in Harris County, Texas last month, in an attempt to end their 29-year marriage. I'm sure you all heard the rumors back in October about Mathew being hit with a paternity lawsuit from a woman who's not his wife -- no word if that affected Tina's decision to pull the plug. Mathew has been Beyonce's manager for years, so there could be a ton of cash up for grabs in the split.

I kind of sensed something was wrong a while ago. Back over the summer, when rumors were swirling about Mathew's unfaithfulness, during many of Beyonce's interviews, she seemed quite somber. I remember Access Hollywood doing an interview with her, and when they asked her how her mother has influenced her, she broke down in tears. I think that's when the trouble was starting.

This is sad though, I sincerely wish them the best.

Charlotte police reported that after a car accident yesterday, NFL player Chris Henry died this morning at 6:26 am. Yesterday Henry was suffering from life-threatening injuries after falling out of the back of a pickup truck. Chris Henry was 26 years old.

(CNN) -- Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry suffered "life-threatening injuries" after falling out of the bed of a pickup during a fight with his fiancee, police in Charlotte, North Carolina, said Wednesday.

The incident occurred shortly before noon Wednesday, when Henry's fiancee tried to drive off during a "domestic situation," only to have Henry jump into the bed of the truck, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said in a written statement.

"The domestic situation continued between the operator and Mr. Henry," according to a police statement. Henry "came out of the back of the vehicle" about six-tenths of a mile from the house, police said.

T.I.'s Headed to a Halfway House

A sign of good things coming! T.I. is expected to be moved to a halfway house shortly after the first of the year as he nears the end of his federal prison sentence for illegal firearms possession and for possessing a gun as a convicted felon, officials confirmed Tuesday.

As you all know, TIP began serving his sentence of a year and a day at an Arkansas prison last May. He is expected to be released from Bureau of Prisons custody on March 23, after serving 85 percent of his sentence.

Bureau of Prisons spokesman Edmond Ross said it was customary for an inmate to transition from prison to freedom via a halfway house if there is no danger to the community and if there is space at a facility near where he is to live after his prison time.

Ugh, March can't get here soon enough! I can't wait to T.I. to return and restore some much needed substance in southern hip hop. After that, all we'll need is some OutKast, Scarface, and 8Ball and MJG and all will be well with the world of hip hop.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Kourtney Kardashian and her boyfriend Scott Disick! The oldest of the Kardashian clan gave birth on Monday (12/14) to a beautiful baby boy. Mason Dash Disick was born in L.A. weighing 7lbs 6oz , and measuring 19.5 inches long.

This is the first child for both Kourtney and her on again - off again boyfriend Scott. I sincerely wish them the best. They have a lot of pettiness in their families, hopefully the joy of a new baby will shed some light on what matters most.

Apparently, Willy made his debut on the show last season when he came on to go on a date one of the trainwrecks, Taylor. Gangsta Boo Arrested for Robbery

Gangsta Boo, born Lola Mitchell, turned herself in to authorities Tues (12/8) in connection with an armed robbery incident at a Dollar General store in Olive Branch, Mississippi. She was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery. She was later released on $100,000 bond.

Police are investigating her role in the armed robbery incident, which took place on July 23rd. Another man named Marcus Curtis, has been arrested and charged as the gunman who committed the crime.

Gangsta Boo is due back in court on January 5th to face the charges.

OJ Simpson Beat Up in Jail?

OJ Simpson was reportedly beaten up and hospitalized Monday in jail due to a racially- motivated incident, according to several news outlets. No further details have been released regarding his state of well-being.

OJ is serving a 9-33 year sentence for kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon in the gunpoint robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room in September of 2007.

It was wack. I’ll keep it a hundred. The BET Awards was horrible. I was watching it, holding my face like, “Oh my God, this is wack.” I didn’t get it. Michael Jackson was such a big entertainer. And I’m not dissing any of the artists who did the songs. But I was expecting a lot more of energy for Michael. And BET Awards usually comes hard. I was expecting them to have Usher, Omarion and even Justin. And I was expecting Ne-Yo to dance. They were so bent on not getting me there that they messed up their own show.

Chris Brown's 20/20 Tell All to Air Tonight

Chris Brown responded to Rihanna's tell all with Diane Sawyer last month in his own interview with ABC News, an excerpt of which aired on Good Morning America on Thursday (December 3). In Chris' interview, which will air in full on "20/20" today, he again apologized for assaulting his former girlfriend and reiterated the sincerity of his contrition.

"I've never ever had problems with anger," Brown said. "I thought, 'How could I be that person?' "

n his sit-down (which was initially slated to air next week), Brown watched Rihanna's comments on a small monitor and sat expressionless as his onetime love talked about the dark moment in their young lives. After the clip ran, Brown hung his head low momentarily. Roberts then asked him if Rihanna's statement was accurate.

"I was wrong for what I did," Brown said, wearily. "And I would definitely say it's not something that I look past or look over. It's something that's really touchy. And like I said, I'm really sorry for what went down and what happened."

Roberts asked if Brown understood the severity of his actions.

"Of course, 100 percent," he replied. "I think what it is, when people see me smiling and kinda nonchalantly giving answers or saying things ... I'm human. Really, I'm really hurting inside. And it really is kinda devastating me."

Gucci Mane, Jeezy, and DJ Drama Squash Beef

The long going beef between Jeezy and Gucci Mane finally came to an end yesterday on Atlanta radio station Hot 107.9, during DJ Drama’s Gangsta Grillz radio show.

Jeezy and Gucci Mane have had a feud the dates back to 2005, over the hit single “Icy,” which was supposed to be featured on Young Jeezy’s debut album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101. Instead, "Icy" appeared on Gucci’s independent 2005 release Back to the Trap House. The feud got violent after Gucci Mane murdered an affiliate of CTE in 2005. He was acquitted of the crime in 2006.

“You know nobody can ever change this history we made, we made classics,” Young Jeezy said of his mended relationship with DJ Drama. “And besides that, we opened up a lane for a lot of these young cats to come into the game. I seen more trappin’ in in the industry now than I ever seen. I know we had a lot to do with this….I just want everyone to know, just by me and you sitting here talking, that’s what men do. Now it’s back to the money, it’s back to the business. I aint gonna lie, I was caught up in my feelings… We gotta make some more history and we gotta open some more doors for these people man.”

DJ Drama, who recorded several Gangsta Grillz mixtapes with Young Jeezy during his rise through Hip-Hop’s underground, became involved in the feud when he decided to release a Gangster Grillz mixtape with Gucci Mane in 2008. Jeezy labeled Drama as a traitor after he and Gucci collaborated, then from there things between the two got worse. As a result of his relationship with Gucci Mane, Jeezy and DJ Drama had several altercations at various music industry functions and parties.

“On my end its like even through everything, we weren’t speaking a lot, there was stuff in there. Then I realized we can agree to disagree,” DJ Drama said. “We are letting you know it’s bigger than us. We do what we do for yall. We are about to get so much more money, we are about to make so many more outlets for revenue for the city, for everybody to eat.”

Gucci later called into Drama's radio show to do his part.

“I’m a 100% down with it [squashing the beef], you know I’m 10 toes forward. I’m with it and I think it’s a great idea and that’s what I’m fittin’ to do. I hope everybody is ready cause it’s back on,” Gucci Mane said to Jeezy.

“That’s what it is homie,” Jeezy replied. “What’s understood aint gotta be said man. We gonna do this for the city so you just hold your head up. Me and Drama gonna hold it down brah, and that’s what it is. 100.”

Charts Stats: Susan Boyle is #1 With 670K US Sales

Damn you Susan! My girl Rihanna didn't stand a chance. Susan Boyle murdered everything moving on the charts, debuting at #1 with over 670,000 units sold, and this isn't even counting the UK. When they put those international numbers together I'm sure she'll be well past the platinum mark.

Rihanna came in at No. 5 with 181,000 units sold, which isn't a disappointment, considering she did similar numbers with her last album that was led by her biggest hit, Umbrella.

And let's not forget the RED STAR HEADMAN Birdman, who came in at #33 with 33,000 copies sold.

DJ Envy Leaves HOT 97; Heading to Power 105.1

Popular DJ and radio-host, DJ Envy announced recently that he would be leaving WQHT (HOT97) and moving on to its NY competitor WWPR Power 105.1. Envy had this say about his new position:

“I'm excited to start hosting afternoons at Power 105.1. Now I’m with the first person that put me on the radio, Ed Lover, and the person who taught me how to mix, DJ Clue. I'm honored to join a young team of talented jocks. The grind begins...its Movvinn!!!”

Looked like the Jeezy show to me...anyways Birdman had his album release party at the Velvet Room in ATL last night. Special guests included: Rick Ross, Jeezy, CTE, Akon's brother Bu, and some other random guys that I didn't recognize.

Well Giant smartened up before they went bankrupt and have created their online mag version, which is set to debut after the last print issue with Alicia Keys on the cover.
