Don't let the racist agenda of the Conservatives and Fox News jade your opinion of our President's accomplishments. Yes, he has MUCH more to do, but in 2009 he got off to an excellent start.
1. He moved quicker than any other President in US history to tackle the nation's horrific economic downfall.
2. Quickly passed the legislation aiding women who face discrimination in the workplace
3. Made history by choosing the first Latina justice to the US Supreme Court, Judge Sotomayor
4. Won major weapons system acquisition form, which is a rare bipartisan achievement
5. Incorporated the Cash for Clunkers program. Although it was confusing, it did stimulate auto sales again.
6. Moved swiftly on expanding our green technology; creating more energy conservation options
7. Extended the Children's Health Insurance Program.
8. Issued tax breaks for individuals struggling to pay their mortgage.
9. Expanded veteran's health benefits
10. Coming further than any other president in getting Health Reform passed
Now some of you Obama haters may look at a few of the items on the list and say they were bad things because he's spending too much money. You gotta give in order to receive. Considering what he walked into office having to deal with, I'd say he's doing well.
