I got the chance to have a convo with Charlotte, NC rap star Bettie Grind. And yes, I .. called him a star because when you ask who's hot in the city, the first name to be spoken will be his. Visit random blocks and see his posters, flyers, etc posted. He's booked on a weekly basis and the only artist in the city in regular rotation on the radio. All the reason why he was also selected to be a part of The Arrival mixtape Vol 2. I spoke with Bettie about his come up in his music career, his new music, and his thoughts on the Carolina music scene.

Well, even after the highly anticipated debut of Rick Ross' Teflon Don, Eminem's continues to hold steady at #1. Recovery sold an additional 187,000 copies last week, while Rick Ross only sold 176,000. To date Recovery has already bypassed the platinum mark with over 1.7 million copies sold. I think its safe to say the recession is over, and I think its also safe to say that you can't blame the economy or the industry on failed album sales anymore.

Here it is. Finally, another opportunity for the world to hear the greatness that the Carolinas hold. Excuse me while I get mushy for a second...

I'm very fortunate to have worked with these artists. There are many talented individuals with good sense that reside in both North and South Carolina. It's been my mission for the last year or so to help the Carolina talent get extra exposure and provide them an outlet to be heard. Now with volume two, I feel that I've done that. Don't get me wrong, there's much more work to do, but with time, and the assistance of other Carolina players, it'll be where it needs to be. I enjoyed every bit of the process, good and bad, and look forward to the next one. Don't forget that the DVD is still coming out! We're currently filming and have much more footage to get so the details of that release will be available in the next few weeks. Also, look forward to hearing details about the Arrival release party within the week. Thanks for downloading, it's greatly appreciated. I know you'll enjoy it.
